Tracey has an extensive academic profile. In 2017 she completed a Bachelor of Contemporary Arts with First-Class Honours, which resulted in her acceptance as a PhD Candidate (Creative Arts). This is in addition to her Masters Degreee and VET qualifications teaching Tertiary and Secondary students Visual Arts and Media Arts.
Key themes that can be seen in Tracey's work are: perception, actual/virtual place, landscape, digital engagement, voice and sanitisation. Many years of working in and being closely involved with the ICT community have influenced the development of these themes. Her background results in a robust foundation on which Tracey uses for deep exploration of concepts, ideas, media and technology that lead to deep, highly sensitive, layered works.
Media used in her works are varied and they tend to be focused in the photography, installation and painting disciplines. Works follow an iterative design process that results in a unified cohesive work or collection. While she prefers not to limit herself to particular media for projects, Tracey's  recent works focus more on painting and drawing.
In April of 2024, Tracey re-opened her studio transitioning to full-time art practice. As well as dedicating time to her art practice, she runs intensive workshops where she offers coaching and mentoring to students engaged in TCE art practice who want to further enhance their art and studio practice through an elite program - Practical Art Exploration Techniques (Years 6 to 8) and Advanced Art Skills and Studio Practice (Years 9 to 12). As well as School-based workshops she offers various classes open to the community, like scones and sketching, designed to develop and build a community of artists gathering regularly for art-based fun. In addition to her studio work she actively participates in University of Tasmania societies, The Post Graduate Gallery Society and The Painting Society - School of Creative Arts and Media, as an alumna.
